Sex Education

This piece was a collaboration with Sam Cohen, who designed and executed the shop walls and shelves. I created all of the items inside. These include flameworked glass, enameled copper, and sawed/formed sheet metal. This piece was made to address the lack of access to positive sexual health information that all young people, but especially queer young people, experience as they try to figure out how to navigate their bodies and relationships.

 

Our goal was to create a miniature shop that felt approachable and safe, inspired by the glass miniature work of Emily Brock and our own experiences feeling intimidated or out of place in real life sex shops.
